Corn Roast, Market and Heritage Fair

Thursday, September 10 2015, 5 to 8 p.m.
This year’s event was bigger and better than ever, because we also celebrated the 40th anniversary of Montgomery’s Inn as a museum.

On a late afternoon in the park, we had a corn roast, live music, displays from west-end heritage organizations and special activities:

Inside the Inn, the historic bar room was open, tended by Thomas Montgomery himself, serving his own special 40th-anniversary beer, custom-made for the Inn by Great Lakes Brewery

The youth of MICAP (Montgomery’s Inn Cooking Arts Program) provided pizza, staffed an information table and sold paletas (Mexican popsicles).

An antique sale by Joan McCool of The Antique Shoppe

Only five special 40th-Anniversary Edition Gift Baskets were on sale

A special anniversary cake, created by the Inn’s volunteer bakers

Live traditional folk music by Gin Lane

Irish Country Dance lessons by Maureen Mulvey-O’Leary of Maureen’s Reel Irish Dancing

Special activities and games for kids

Visits from past employees and volunteers and a memorabilia table

Speeches by local officials and Larry Ostola, Director of Museums and Heritage Services at the City of Toronto

Tours of the Robert A. Given Library

Admission: Free (Bring your own lawn chair!)
